This is to provide access to learning and facilities that will support the student on a Health and Sciences (STEM) high level pathway and further their passions and interests. The special entry encourages students from both rural and metropolitan locations to apply for positions at Adelaide Botanic High School. The selective entry is not for a separate specialist program until Year 10 but will support students to undertake their middle years learning at Adelaide Botanic High School with a strong focus on inquiry and connected STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) learning. Adelaide Botanic High School seeks to develop our student's skills, capabilities and dispositions to be futures-focused. Teachers embrace learning approaches that promote inquiry, challenge, collaboration, creativity and connections with the local and global communities. The selected special entry students have STEM focused teachers to provide mentoring based on individual student's needs. Teachers are specially chosen and committed to the best of contemporary teaching and learning. The student learning experiences are enriched by our relationships with our university neighbours, cultural institutions, Adelaide City Council and industry. Siblings of students who enter the school via this process do not have automatic enrolment rights into Adelaide High Botanic School. The tests are skill based rather than curriculum based and designed to identify innate ability rather than acquired knowledge.
